General Admission viewing banks are located throughout the circuit and is a popular way to experience the magnificent setting of Spa. Spa-Francorchamps circuit is a very popular circuit for General Admission. If you are purchasing a General Admission ticket, you are welcome to take fold-down chairs and blankets with you, but please be advised that the terrain of this area can be quite rough and hilly in places. Due to the size of this circuit, there may also be long walks to the General Admission areas, depending on the entrance that you use.

The Combes grandstand complex (uncovered) is strategically situated on the outside of the circuit, nestled between the Malmedy and Bruxelles (also known as Rivage) corners. Positioned just beyond the exit of the Malmedy turn, this grandstand offers spectators a dynamic viewing experience as cars accelerate out of Malmedy and approach the challenging right-hand bend at Bruxelles.

This spectator area is divided into four distinct sections—Combes 1, 2, 3, and 4. Sections Combes 1 and 2 are located closer to Malmedy, providing fans with a clear and exciting view of the cars as they emerge from the fast, sweeping corner. In contrast, Combes 3 and 4 are set closer to the Bruxelles/Rivage hairpin, delivering a prime vantage point to watch the drivers brake hard and manoeuvre through one of the circuit’s most technical corners.

Positioned just beyond the exit of the high-speed “Speed” corner, this grandstand offers a budget-friendly option for fans looking to experience the raw thrill of Formula 1 without breaking the bank. While it may be considered one of the more basic seating areas at the circuit, it certainly has its own rustic appeal for purists who value the essentials: speed, sound, and an unobstructed view.

The viewing experience here focuses more on the spectacle of velocity rather than close racing, as overtaking is rare at this section of the track. For fans of technique and tactics, the action can feel a little repetitive due to the nature of the corner, but the visceral sensation of cars flying past at full throttle remains undeniably impressive.

In terms of amenities, comfort is minimal. Seating consists of traditional, weathered wooden bleachers, and the lack of a roof means spectators are fully exposed to the elements—whether that’s blazing sun, pouring rain, or anything in between. That said, for fans willing to endure a few splinters and a possible soaking, this stand has one major advantage: there’s no high catch fencing in front, offering an unfiltered, panoramic view of the cars at speed. It’s raw, it’s loud, and for some, it’s exactly what an F1 experience should be.

Flanking the prestigious Gold 2 Grandstand, Silver 1 and Silver 2 feel very much like sibling stands—offering a similar experience in both style and pricing. Both are open-air (uncovered) seating areas, sharing the same panoramic vantage point over one of Spa-Francorchamps’ most iconic stretches of track: from the tight La Source hairpin all the way down to the base of Eau Rouge.

What sets Silver 1 apart is its slightly closer proximity to the La Source hairpin and the Formula 1 pit lane exit. This positioning gives fans a unique perspective of the dramatic speed transition F1 cars undergo: from the slow, technical exit of La Source to full-throttle acceleration down the hill. Cars roar past the grandstand, building speed rapidly—reaching around 300 kph as they charge through Eau Rouge and Raidillon, without lifting off the throttle until they approach Les Combes. Located right at the exit of the legendary La Source corner, Silver 1 also offers views of the pit exit rejoining the track, adding another layer of interest during races and qualifying sessions. It’s an excellent location for fans who want to witness both technical driving and raw speed from a single seat.

In 2022, Spa-Francorchamps saw the introduction of the ‘new, improved’ Gold 3 grandstand, replacing the old ‘classic’ version. This larger, permanent grandstand at the same iconic location offers an enhanced viewing experience, particularly for the legendary Eau Rouge corner, without some of the previous drawbacks.

Situated mid-way up the ascent to the Kemmel Straight, Gold 3 provides a fantastic view, looking down the hill as cars race past right in front of you. The elevated position also allows for a glimpse of the cars as they enter the final chicane before the start/finish line, offering one of the most expansive and thrilling views on the entire circuit.

With its stunning panoramic view of La Source, Eau Rouge, and Raidillon, Gold 3 ranks as one of the best grandstands in Formula 1. Additionally, the grandstand is fully covered, offering shelter from the sun or rain, so you can enjoy the action without obstruction from umbrellas or the weather.

Gold 1 offers the full suite of features you’d expect from a premium grandstand located along the main straight at Spa-Francorchamps. From this prime position, spectators can enjoy front-row access to the heart of the race weekend’s most important moments: pit lane activity, live grid preparations, driver interviews, and the all-important podium ceremony. It’s the place to be if you want to stay close to the action on and off the track.

Though the main straight at Spa is relatively short, the vantage point from Gold 1 allows fans to see much more than just start-finish line speed. From here, you can glimpse the exit of the final chicane (Bus Stop) as well as the approach into the tight La Source hairpin. The most sought-after seats—particularly those in blocks A through F—are positioned closest to the chicane and offer direct views of the podium and parc fermé. Some lucky spectators in these blocks even catch a partial view of the legendary Eau Rouge in the distance. While brief, this glimpse of one of F1’s most iconic corners adds a unique and memorable dimension to the viewing experience. Seating higher up in the grandstand is especially rewarding. These rows offer a clearer, unobstructed view of the track as the cars exit the chicane, since the fencing below doesn’t interfere with the line of sight. As drivers exit on the far right of the track and sweep left toward La Source following the racing line, fans seated lower or closer to the hairpin may find the view partially obscured by safety fencing—something to consider for photography enthusiasts aiming for the perfect shot.
